Work including the new album “JUMP WORLD” (on sale) = ON talk, and OFF talk including the other members behind the scenes or “If I would hang out with X”.
ON: I’m truly happy that we were able to release an album after a long time. We compressed everything we’ve gained in the past two years, and I think it became an album with a very strong content. I took a challenge to write lyrics this time too, but actually I had already finished them, but rewrote everything. When I went to Sendai for work, I felt a lot of different things and I wanted to add those feelings no matter what… I tried to write it with simple words, so that anyone listening to it would immediately understand it. I would be happy if it reached the hearts of many people. Also, our last performance on Yokohama Arena was on my birthday, so I was showered with a lot of things (smile). In the middle they made a prank that Yuya flipped out during the MC, I was really surprised. The staff members even yelled: “Yamada, do something!” so it felt really real (smile). Also, people who had come to the concert had folded paper cranes and lined them up in a message that said: “Congratulations Yamachan” and it was reflected on the stage monitor. I was incredibly moved. I felt everyone’s love ♥
OFF: The members don’t really have a side that you could call an “off” side. Everyone is living really naturally (smile). If I forcefully think of something, I’d say that Hikaru-kun takes the lead and talks a lot when he’s with everyone, but if you’re alone with him he’s really quiet. I think he’s got a bigger gap in that, than the fans would think. Just a little unexpected, isn’t it? If I hang out with Daichan… he’s like an old man (laugh). We would go to places like Kenkou Land*. Of course I treat him. He would get a massage, and then we’d go to onsen together and just relax. As an image it’s like a grandpa and a grandson? (laugh)
Notes:
*Kenkou Land = Literally “Health Land”. It’s a public bathhouse where there’s also a sauna, a steam bath, massage, swimming pool and things like that, a lot of variety. There are several Kenkou Lands around Japan so it’s like a chain.
